Rangers Camp 2025

We have just completed our Annual Camp with our Royal Rangers Outpost. This was a 3-day, two night camp with 45 people present. Children aged 5-7 we brought in each day by their parents, but children aged 8 and above were able to camp overnight. The children were divided into teams of 8-12 children and each team is responsible for their own food preparation, either making sandwiches or wraps at lunchtime, or cooking a meal over a fire at night.

A typical programme for each day included

  • Breakfast – either a cold breakfast or bacon and egg.
  • Morning meeting in the Yorte – this laid out the programme for the day
  • Morning workshops – these are designed to develop skills that are useful in our scouting activities but are also interesting and challenging for teh children.
  • Lunch – this is prepared and eaten in each of the teams
  • Afternoon game – we ran big games on each day that occupied teh afternoon
  • Evening meal – the children cooked this over camp fires. They were given freshly chilled ingredients from the kitchen tent and were expected to light and tend teh fires safety for the duration of the cooking.
  • Evening meeting – we had a further meeting together in the Yorte followed by further games and activities.

More photos to come shortly, but we have 3 videos illustrating camp life.
